Respite care provides pre-planned short term placements for children and young people. The length and timing of each arrangement for respite care, varies according to the specific needs of the child and their family or placing authority.
Respite care is also provided to young people needing some intensive support during crisis to avoid a breakdown in their current placement.
Young people are given the time, space and support to regain control and are involved in many outdoor activities, workshops and groups to keep them engaged.
Calcot Services for Children can arrange respite care on a one-off or regular basis. This is usually arranged on a planned basis but we will consider placements in an emergency.
