‘Developing independence through creativity, connection, and confidence.’
After many months of building work and preparation, Calcot Services For Children are holding a soft-open event at The Mile House Therapeutic School. Located in Sulhamstead, the school boasts spacious classrooms and expansive grounds. Staff at The Mile House will specialise in working with students with a range of learning needs, between the ages of 11 and 16 years old.
‘At The Mile House Therapeutic School, our vision is to provide a creative, therapeutic, individualised approach to learning, centred around well-being and skills for independence.
This vision is reinforced by our commitment to, and passionate belief that through, building trust and rebuilding confidence, every young person can engage with life and learning in order to reach their potential.
We aim to help students to overcome their individual challenges and barriers to learning and achieve personal and academic growth and this means that from the time a student arrives, we work with them to identify a long-term goal for themselves, and we then build a curriculum that ensures that they are well prepared to achieve and succeed in reaching this goal.’

Our soft-open event is to be held on Friday 8th of April, between 12pm and 3pm.
We pride ourselves on having created a unique ethos which is practised throughout our communities and which forms the basis for our person specification qualities.
These are warmth, genuineness, integrity, honesty, commitment, experience, knowledge, compassion, the ability to celebrate diversity, humour, empathy and respect for others.
