They work with children in crisis situations and sometimes their presentation reflects the fear and trauma they are going through - this can manifest into behaviours such as anger, verbal and physical violence, self-injurious behaviour, going missing and other concerning risk taking behaviours. 😔This is why the message is clear, our values are set - our team ensure everyone is respected, differences are celebrated, communication is honest, transparent and inclusive 🗣👂🏼🙌🏻🤝Our animals are valued members of The Lodge team because they can help young people relax, minimise stress, which is inevitable if you’ve arrived in an emergency situation, and our animals offer a sense of safety and unconditional acceptance that puts young people at ease, so the team can ensure they provide meaningful, participation and importantly, fun activities. 🐔🦙🐐🐴We hope you enjoy our video ❤️ #lovewhatwedo
